I was not looking forward to my classes this semester. I have a full load this semester and with Biology and Math this semester I hoped I wouldn't feel too overwhelmed. My classes turned out to be really fun and I actually like most of my professors.
- Math 112: My math class shouldn't be too hard, last semester I had to teach everything to myself. We only met once a week and my teacher never taught us anything. I figured my new math class would be the same, but I found out we get to meet in classrooms and actually have lessons. Unfortunately, my professor is Indian, and before you assume anything, I have no grudges against Indians, except for I can't understand a dad-gum thing they are saying. He went through an entire lesson Thursday and I just stared at him with my mouth wide open, nothing that he said made any sense to me. So, it looks like I will be teaching myself again this semester. :(
- Women's Studies: Okay, I think this class is going to be so much fun! The topics all seem really interesting. My first class we watched a movie because my professor had a meeting, when she actually came and talked to us, she told us she has spent the last few years on the Haiti/Dominican Republic border. I thought she was really cool, and I can't wait to see what we are doing this semester.
- American History: Growing up with a history teacher made me really interested in the past. I sat down and our professor started with this "So, I know most of you already hate this class because of your high school history teacher whose named probably started with Coach. All he did was read to you out of a book and bore you to tears." I laughed a little and thought, man if you only knew haha! The class is probably going to be interesting to me, but he talks really fast and doesn't put his notes on a slide show. So I have to write super fast, but I will keep up.
- Biology: I figured my biology class was going to be really hard, but my professor understands that no one in the class is going to be a bio major, the class is specifically for non-majors. My teacher was really funny and told us that she doesn't expect us to know all the ins and outs of Biology, we are just going to relate biology to our lives today.
- English: My English teacher is crazy!! He is a little short guy with long curly hair, he is just a huge ball of energy. My class is mostly focused on Southern Culture, but our first class he went over argumentation. We had to write a proposal, pass it back one person and that person had to argue our proposal. I wrote"I want to be convinced that UA is better than AU." I figured I would get something like that, but no, the girl in front of me hands her back and I read "I want to be convinced that BMW's are better cars than Mercedes are." I just looked at her like, you have to be kidding me. She said "Oh, you don't drive a BMW, do you?" I was like no haha, she said "Oh good, well I think they are crappy cars." I was like yeah, okay, whatever. So I had to argue that and then read it aloud to the class. I'm sure I looked like an idiot, but I don't care!!
